The Human Fragment

The human fragment is about seeing people, but not as we normally would in photography. Rather, it\'s about seeing the \"bits and pieces\" - the fragments - that make us unique. I try to avoid the eyes, a human feature that steals the scene in any photograph. The Human Fragment series is about alternative ways of seeing, it is street photography that\'s different. The series is unconventional and makes many viewers squirm and even repel. If you leave thinking about my work, in any capacity, it is mission accomplished. Arousing emotion in photography today is no mean feat. Love me or hate me, just don\'t forget me. My aim, a lofty one for sure, is to have work that can be instantly recognized - that claims a signature of its own - a feature too often missing from the plethora of street photography out there today. We have too much of the same. The Human Fragment aims to be different.
