\"Below-Ocean\" is a collection of images spanning over 5 years as I explore the beauty of the underwater world. On a single breath dive I slip below the ocean surface. With a camera in hand I follow lightpaths, diving down into cold free flowing waters. A handheld torch accompanies me, illuminating instances that captivate and connect. Natural light cuts through the water and sunlight reflects through the surface, bouncing off skin, scales and fur. Bubbles move as the body that exhaled them disappears into the depths. I’m looking for the perfect balance of light and composition. Those small moments in life where we feel perfectly connected to nature. Whether it be in a single breath dive, the morning light bouncing off the oceans surface or the darkness that comes before the moon. There is so much beauty that it’s hard to look past. Endlessly searching for those moments of natural interactions, I’m drawn to them. Not only to capture but to experience them.
