Memory Palace

There’s an ancient mnemonic technique called the “Memory Palace” that consists in mentally recreating a visual path of well-known places to associate them with a list of new elements positioned along the way. Inspired by this technique, I’ve initiated an endless photographic work about memory. An introspective series, structured as a book, and visually depicting the way we access to our mind and remember things. A project in which I explore, in the form of souvenirs, sometimes deconstructed and abstract, sometimes constructed and precise ; the cartography of my own memory. A journey through childhood memories, daily tracks and hazardous situations.

Visual artist and sound designer based in Paris, France. I mix analog and digital photography to express my vision. It is a primary obsession to see and apprehend the world that led me to visual arts. Fascinated by nature and its wilderness, I’m inspired by the angles, the space and the volumes that it offers us. In a world constantly moving, photography allows me to take the time : to observe, compose and understand. Through a practice located at the intersection of staging and pure reality, I found a way to tell stories and concepts.

My series question the connection between human and his environment and push me to rethink my own relationship to the world around me. I’m trying to include myself drawing real and virtual lines, applying a momentary luminous imprint or capturing it in its simple brutality. Through my work I want to question the appropriation of space by humankind, the conservation of our primary resources and the evolution of our species in an uncertain universe.
