About Devotion and Emotion
Pictures in “About emotion, devotion and incantations” portray my encounters during a lifelong spiritual journey. Everyone is looking for something and all people go around carrying this devotion, this feeling of enthusiasm or burden within them. This series peeps into that hidden intensity, what we do not fully understand but we feel all the time. It is about the subtle but constant manifestations of awareness; getting somewhere, cleaning ourselves, blending with our surroundings, color, doing simple but profound things together. Devotion is about our praise to something considered sacred. And, in its subtle manifestations, is about the deep emotions and mystery in our lives, the surreal aspect of ourselves. To try and experience devotion is to discover how to carry the baggage that allows us to go through, together or alone. People feel passion for the divine and for their lovers, and people also feel passion for the things that make their every day life. How we look into strangers, how we care, how we make our lives about something real and unreal. Life can be hard and because of this we are looking for a meaning. The world has portrayed this search for trust as a weakness. Believers, either in themselves, or in something else, are often disregarded or regarded as marginals. However, we are all carrying a drive to trust, be happy and find peace within. “About emotion, devotion and incantations” shares this drive. These pictures are both mine and yours, and I took them following my own devotion. I believe they can make us feel less lonely, as I have felt whilst taking them.
