MIDDLE BEAUTY

In MIDDLE BEAUTY I explore the unified beauty of the Middle East and challenges preconceived notions of this mysterious part of the world. In 2017, I embarked on an adventure to the Middle East with somewhat clouded views of the region, but the journey quickly evolved into one of great discovery. I travelled from a 200-year-old village in the mountains of Oman to the endless ochre deserts in Jordan. I captured the unspoken beauty of towns, cities and the people that freckle the desert plains all the way back to the mountain peaks. My minimalist imagery intentionally creates space for reflection and to explore a region of immense beauty that deserves celebration.

My dad gave me my first camera at the age of 10, it was at this early age that photography became an escape and my one true form of expression

My approach is to show the true beauty of the subject, where it demands attention by introducing space and minimising distractions. The simplest of things, when isolated, can represent something beautiful. What we take for granted seems often to be the most important, when I bring attention to these simple elements it can function as a reminder to truly appreciate the finer things that surround us.
