Do I retain copyright and all other usage rights in my images?

Yes. Life Framer respects your rights and does not claim copyright for works you submit to the award. You will retain full copyright in each image you submit, with us granted a licence to use the image for specific purposes (e.g. publishing on our social media and website if you are a winner, printing one copy for our winners’ exhibitions). We do not sell usage rights to your images or use them to train AI algorithms. For more details, please read our full rules.

I've paid but don't know how to upload – What should I do?

During the payment process, you will have been asked to create a my LF account. my LF is the entrant and members’ area of our website, from where you can submit images to our competitions, request feedback, and access other features.

Sign in to your account from our website menu bar (or here), and you’ll be taken to my LF. If already signed in, you’ll see a my LF button on our website menu bar and you can click that. Once in my LF, scroll down and you’ll see the buttons to both submit images to our monthly competitions and our Series Award. If you don’t have the necessary entry credits, you can also purchase them here.

What is the membership option?

The membership option enables you to enter up to 10 images per monthly competition for the next 12 consecutive competitions of Life Framer – so 120 images in total.

At whatever time you become a member, you will be able to enter the current competition and 11 further consecutive competitions. Given that Life Framer runs in editions of 12 monthly competitions followed by a series of exhibitions, if you join as a member during the middle of one edition, your membership will continue into the next edition (e.g. if there are 5 monthly competitions remaining at the point you become a member, you will be able to enter those, along with the first 7 monthly competitions of the subsequent edition).

You are not obligated to submit 10 images to every competition – you can submit less than 10, or skip monthly competitions entirely. However unused entry credits will not roll over beyond the 12 monthly competitions.
